Bridgewater State University, situated at 131 Summer St, is frequently celebrated in my local and professional circles as the "crown jewel" of the Massachusetts state university system, offering a merytorical depth that truly punches above its weight. From numerous insightful conversations with alumni and educators, a clear consensus emerges that BSU provides a sophisticated, high-value education that masterfully balances a historic commitment to teacher preparation with a modern, high-tech approach to the liberal arts and sciences. My colleagues often remark on the universityβs exceptional ability to foster a supportive, small-college atmosphere while providing the robust resources and research opportunities of a much larger institution. In frequent discussions about the regional academic landscape, those I trust repeatedly emphasize the faculty's genuine dedication to student mentorship, which many families I know describe as the decisive factor in their childrenβs professional confidence. I am particularly struck by how the university has transformed its campus with state-of-the-art facilities like the Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Center, reflecting a visionary stra

I loved my experience at Bridgewater State! My educational experience there led to a wonderful internship that launched a career in technology before pivoting to owning a real estate brokerage for the last 10+ years. As a member of the cheerleading squad and rugby teams I was able to stay involved on campus despite never living on it. I met some amazing people that I am still close with over 20 years later. Itβs a gorgeous campus that has grown so much since I attended, I still enjoy driving through. Highly recommend!

On my first two weeks at Bridgewater, I endured many unsafe precautionary tales to be told. There were two sexual assaults on campus, and I was placed in an unwholesome predicament in the residency, because the student housing was "filled. When I requested to get a new room, 1 month later, my request was granted. As I finally settled into the new room, I found out that it had been available since the beginning of the semester. In addition, the transfer credit advisor never attended to the credits that needed to be on my new transcript. Therefore, I had to repeat classes that I've taken previously. I also had the same professor from a prior school I attended, with the same transcript credits that were not applied. I was so excited to study abroad in Vietnam; it was the single most important event that I was looking forward to. That was the cherry on top when I got the trip cancelled. What a waste of time, money, and life. If you go to this school, go to study remedial or general studies. However, if you are studying Music or the Arts, I would stay away from this school; it is, in fact, a plague.

I have very little good things to say about BSU. Every advisor I have met with are clueless and incompetent. There are no communication between the departments and different programs. I truly believe they do not care about student success and their outcomes. There are quite a few majors that no matter what you do, you cannot finish all required courses and credits to graduate in four years. BSU is horribly managed. Any problem with safety they throw under the rug. There was a serious incident I had reported and was told I would have a meeting, and I was never reached out to again. I highly recommend looking at different schools. I have commuted and lived on campus, and can guarantee you this school is not worth it for the horrible service, classes, and price. I am very upset with BSU.

I transferred and graduated here for my undergraduate degree in 2023 and it was the best decision I could have made. The campus is beautiful, and I loved the staff. I appreciate the effort they put in making sure their students succeed. I'm currently getting my master's degree here and I still don't have many complaints, besides parking as a commuter and some of the buildings being very old. Other than that, the teachers and the president himself are all very personable, and they make learning here worth it.
